In February 2020, Survivor Strong began hosting self-care circles for survivors + allies in the greater Lansing area. At these bi-weekly healing + self-care circles, Survivor Strong team members lead activities rooted in self-expression, self-esteem, self-compassion, and self-love. Full of soft seating, calm music, crafts, and good vibes, our HART (Healing and Response Time) room is the perfect location for survivors of sexual assault to form community and heal together while making feel-good crafts that will aid in future self-care.
Note: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Survivor Strong has migrated existing services to a private, digital community. If you are interested in connecting to our online community, please email email@example.com to join.
Survivor Strong will host more talk-based support circles in our HART room. We can’t wait to provide the safe space we know so many survivors are longing for.
When it is safe + appropriate, Survivor Strong will host one-on-one, trauma-informed yoga + meditation in our Healing and Respite Center
Survivor Strong’s care package project began in early 2020 as a way to care for survivors during the state-mandated stay-at-home order and has since blossomed into a quarterly program.
While it started as a way to make sure survivors took care of themselves and felt supported during quarantine, we quickly discovered just how beneficial the people we served found the packages and we turned it into a year-round program!
The Survivor Closet
The Survivor Closet will function as an online thrift store with one amazing difference. Each time we send care packages to our survivors they will receive exclusive coupons and sales allowing them to add two pieces to their own closet FOR FREE! If you have browsed the site, you may have noticed that pieces are priced and available for purchase. Survivors are encouraged to help us spread the word of this one-of-a-kind amenity because all clothes on the site are available for purchase to the public!
